BREAKING NEWS: Graham Potter officially appointed new Brighton’s manager as Roberto De Zerbi’s best replacement – Mark Lawrenson confirms

Get the most recent information about Brighton & Hove Albion’s head coach hunt.

Mark Lawrenson, a former player for Brighton,

believes that Graham Potter is the best man to lead them forward.

Bookmakers had Potter as the overwhelming favorite to rejoin the team and replace

departing player Roberto De Zerbi at the conclusion of the last campaign.

Brighton supporters’ views on Potter’s possible comeback are varied because some of them are

still upset with how he left the team to join Chelsea in September 2022.

Nonetheless, throughout his three years as manager of Brighton, the former Swansea manager had remarkable success.

He played a beautiful brand of football to propel them from a team fighting relegation to the top of the table.

Brighton’s choice may be heavily influenced by his capacity to nurture younger players like Leo Trossard,

Moises Caicedo, Yves Bissouma, and Alexis Mac Allister.

Speaking to Best Online Poker Sites, Lawrenson—who played for the Seagulls for over 150 games—said,

“I’d like to see Graham Potter back at Brighton.”

He is familiar with the team and was instrumental in molding them into the current lineup.

He was the main reason for their success as a passing and pressing team until Chelsea made an attempt to oust him.

“I know sometimes it’s easy to say ‘we never want him back’ when a manager goes like he did,

but you look at who Brighton have their eyes on at the moment, and Graham Potter seems the best choice,

while also knowing the club inside out.

“He knows the owner and the board very well and he’ll still know a lot of the players.

He had a really attractive way of playing and I think getting him back to Brighton looks to be the easy decision.”

Brighton were also linked with former Man United coach and current Ipswich Town boss Kieran McKenna,

while Southampton’s Russell Martin is also thought to be high on the list of possible candidates.

McKenna is expected to sign a new contract with Ipswich and lead the club into their first season back in the Premier League.
