Everton considering taking on Man City outcast on a summer loan

As to a recent report by the Daily Mail, Everton is considering a potential loan agreement for Kalvin Phillips this

summer. Prior to his transfer to West Ham United in January, Everton was reportedly in the running to sign

Phillips.

It appears that the Citizens would rather fire the Englishman permanently, but Everton’s “continuing takeover

and financial limitations mean they are unsure what budget they will have available.”

It’s also been said that Leeds United’s recent Championship play-off final loss to Southampton has hurt their

hopes of getting the midfield player back to Elland Road this summer.

Phillips might be able to start over at Everton.

In a £45 million deal, City acquired the midfield player from Leeds during the summer transfer window of

2022.

The 28-year-old was loaned out to West Ham back in January after making only 31 appearances for the Blues

and failing to leave his imprint in Pep Guardiola‘s lineup.

Unfortunately, Phillips only started three of his ten games for the Hammers; in addition, he was sent off against

Nottingham Forest, gave away a penalty against Newcastle United, and made a mistake that allowed

Bournemouth to score on his debut for the club.

In our opinion, even though this is merely a temporary arrangement, the Englishman may be able to restart his

career at Everton if he can maintain his fitness and secure a starting role on a regular basis.
