English former football player and manager sent a disheartening message across to rangers calling them ‘bang average’
Chris Sutton claims on It’s All Kicking Off… as he pinpoints main issue they face
Rangers may have a challenging season the next year if they don’t make the appropriate hiring decisions in the
summer, Chris Sutton said on the Mail Sport podcast.
In addition to finishing eight points behind Celtic in the Scottish Premiership, Philippe Clement’s team was
defeated by Brendan Rodgers’ team in the Scottish Cup final over the weekend, thanks to a late goal from Adam Idah.
Clément replaced Michael Beale in October, and Sutton said that he ‘pulled every ounce out of a bang average
Rangers club’ that was, to be honest, not his own.
Though the Belgian will have the opportunity to bring in players from scratch in the summer,
Sutton stated that his team ‘will need a solid start to next season’ in order to contend.
However, Rangers ‘can’t spend,’ and Celtic will have a’massive advantage’ because they would automatically
qualify for the Champions League by winning the league, according to Sutton.
Co-host Ian Ladyman brought up Jack Butland’s mistake in the championship game,
but Sutton dismissed the criticism and congratulated Brendan Rodgers and his group.
