THE IDAH DEBATE: WHAT BRENDAN RODGERS SAYS  THAT GOT FANS SURPRISE

Brendan Rodgers has made it very clear how he feels about Celtic trying to get Adam Idah to sign a long-term deal.
Since the 23-year-old frontman for the Republic of Ireland arrived at the champions in late January,

the boss has maintained that he will succeed at the Hoops.
And after witnessing the formidable striker score the lone goal of a tough Scottish Cup Final match over the weekend,

Rodgers reaffirmed his desires.

“The board knows how I feel about Adam,” the grinning boss remarked.

That was the rationale behind his introduction..

He is an accomplished player. I’m quite glad for him.

A striker from Ireland gives his team the victory against Rangers in the Scottish Cup Final.

Whoa! He will have an amazing summer.

“The board will review it; I’m not sure if we’ll have him in the summer.

There’s a lot of work to be done; therefore, my conversations with Adam will stay confidential.

However, he and the club are aware of my feelings, so we’ll see what transpires.

Rodgers went on to say to the Daily Record, “I knew what I was getting with Adam because I’d seen him in the Premier League when I was eighteen.

” He is endowed with every quality.

“He’s quick, agile, and powerful, and I think he could score goals with better positioning.”

He moves really well in the box and can handle stressful situations.

“Adam has been tremendously helpful to us, and it’s obvious that I want to work with him.

I simply feel that Adam has such a lofty potential.

“Since coming here, the pressure of being at a big club has suited him well.”

The two-time champion coach continued, saying, “You learn how to prepare at Celtic.

” Here, you have to be proactive; you cannot afford to take it easy.

That’s been beneficial to him. He has grown because of his surroundings.

He’s been an excellent team member for us, and his confidence has never faltered.”

Idah, a burly attacker from Cork, has added another dimension to Rodgers’ forward line and proven his worth

again when he started the match against Kilmarnock at Rugby Park 12 days ago.

The manager was looking for a different approach against a team that had defeated the Hoops twice at the same venue earlier in the campaign.

and Idah provided it. Since his short-term loan agreement, Idah has scored nine goals and helped relieve some of the pressure off Kyogo Furuhashi.

who hasn’t shown the same level of consistency as the previous two years since his £4.6 million recruitment from J-League Vissel Kobe.

His first goal in the fifth minute set the tone, and by the 35th,

the Parkhead men were up three goals and heading for a 5-0 victory as they won the title for the third time in a row.
