Official:Roberto De Zerbi set to sign deal with Manchester United-Personal terms agreed

If Manchester United decides to fire Erik Ten Hag as manager, Roberto De Zerbi has come to light as an

unexpected contender.

As part of their backup plans in case Ten Hag leaves, Mail Sport has heard that United reached out to De Zerbi

through middlemen last week. They also spoke with representatives for Kieran McKenna, Thomas Frank,

Thomas Tuchel, and Mauricio Pochettino.

Ten Hag left the manager in the dark about his future when he departed Manchester for a little vacation on

Sunday, but United will assess the season in full this week to decide whether to allow him to finish out the last

year of his three-year deal at Old Trafford.

After winning trophies in each of his two seasons at United, the Dutchman is adamant that he has done enough

to stay on the team, especially in light of the young players’ tremendous growth and his brilliant tactical

performance in Saturday’s FA Cup final triumph over Manchester City.

Chelsea is also considering De Zerbi, McKenna, Frank, and Leicester boss Enzo Maresca in their pursuit of a

prompt appointment to succeed Pochettino.
