NBA Analyst Slams Boston Celtics’ Jayson Tatum’s Unfair Treatment

Similar to WNBA player Caitlin Clark before him, Jayson Tatum has been the target of a lot of criticism lately. But Tim Legler, an NBA commentator, believes it has to stop because these critics are unjust.

Tatum has made a name for himself in the NBA as a reliable scorer and capable defensive player ever since joining the league as the Celtics’ first-round selection in the 2017 Draft.

The youthful forward accepted the challenge and developed into Boston’s best player over time.

Tatum and company have a slightly different season this year. The Celtics were able to secure the best record in the league and the top seed in the Eastern Conference going into the playoffs, largely due to the acquisitions of Jrue Holiday and Kristaps Porzingis.

They overcame the Miami Heat without Jimmy Butler and the Cleveland Cavaliers in five games, demonstrating their postseason vigor.

Tyrese Haliburton and the Indiana Pacers are up three games to none as Boston continues to display their dominance in the Conference Finals. Tatum has averaging 31.7 points, 9.3 rebounds, 5.7 assists, 1.3 steals, and over 44 minutes per game in that series.

Over the past few years, Tatum has seen his fair share of skeptics and detractors. As shown in a video clip published by The Old Man and The Three Podcast’s account on X, NBA expert Tim Legler responded by defending the Celtics player against the unfair treatment he’s receiving:

Given that Tatum has been providing his team with buckets and boards for the previous few years, Legler raises a valid issue. Although he still has room for improvement in several areas of his game, he differs from past superstars who have fallen short in crucial situations.

Whether Tatum can alter the narrative by taking home a title this year is still to be seen. If he does, those detractors of the Celtics All-Star forward should temper their criticism.
