Dan Bardell feels that Rangers must support Philippe Clement and keep him as manager,

regardless of the outcome of the Scottish Cup final on Saturday (25 May).

The Gers prepare for their final game of the season against Celtic at Hampden Park,

hoping to win the cup for the first time since the 2021/22 season.

After losing the Scottish Premiership to their Old Firm rivals,

Clement is under pressure to get one up on Brendan Rogers.

Sky Sports and talkSPORT pundit Bardell believes that even if the Light Blues lose,

their manager should be awarded a vote of confidence to continue in his position.

Speaking exclusively to Ibrox News, Bardell stated: “At some point, Rangers have to stick by someone.

They can’t keep repeating the cycle of replacing managers every season.

I believe they have had some good moments this season with good results.

“I believe managers require that preseason, just think you should give him some time because there have been signals of positivity.

“At the end of the day, one of two teams will win the trophy in Scotland.

It’s around 50:50, and it’s simple to get it incorrect.

“Even if they were to win the cup, it doesn’t show they are going in the right direction but I’d say give him more time regardless.”

How can Rangers win the Scottish Cup against Celtic?

Rangers have struggled in Old Firm games in recent years, failing to win over Celtic since May 2023.

After a year without a win in the derby, the cup final will provide an opportunity to rectify the wrongs of the previous year.

It is evident that Rogers’ side has weaknesses that may be exploited, as St Mirren did on the season’s final day.

Mark O’Hara scored a brace on the day, and Rangers players will be eager to prove they can do similar at Hampden.

Stephen Walsh struggled at Parkhead, and if he starts in the final, Cyriel Dessers should test him throughout.

Cantwell has two goals in two games and is in fantastic form just in time for the final,

while Ross McCausland also scored against Hearts.

Clement must get the most out of his team because losing the cup could cost him his job.
