According to the club’s press office, Championship team Plymouth confirmed today,

May 25, that former Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney will take over as head coach of the group.

It is noteworthy that Plymouth finished 21st in the current Championship with 51 points,

one point better than Birmingham (22nd position), who were demoted to the third English level.

Wayne Rooney has been appointed as our new head coach, and we are thrilled to announce this.

“Taking on this role at Plymouth Argyle feels like the perfect next step in my career,

” the 38-year-old stated. “I want to thank the board and chairman for their faith in me.”

“On the last day of the 2023–24 season,

Plymouth maintained their Championship status after defeating Hull City 1-0 at Home Park to finish in 21st place,
