“Done” – Newcastle signing imminent, another “very close” and Spors doubts emerge

Craig Hope of The Mail has disclosed the current status of moves for Lloyd Kelly and Tosin Adarabioyo,

as well as what comes next in our sporting director hunt after top target Dougie Freedman signed a new contract with Crystal Palace.

It is understood that head of recruiting Steve Nickson is coordinating transfer talks, and according to Hope’s sources,

a move for Kelly is “done” and will be revealed in ‘due time’ given that the player has confirmed his departure from Bournemouth this summer.

As for Tosin, those same sources claim the 6ft 5′ Fulham centre-back is “very close” to completing a summer move to St James’ Park,

with talks continuing in London this week to finalise the specifics. Both moves would be free.

In terms of our sporting director search, Johannes Spors,

the German talent scout who got it to Newcastle’s last two interview rounds alongside Freedman, is currently under scrutiny.
