Rangers new signing ‘all done barring official club announcement’ – Four Lads

Gers have signed their first summer signing before the season has even started,

with Four Lads Had A Dream revealing on social media that the Jefte deal is almost complete at Ibrox.

The station announced on X [24 May] that Jefte passed a medical on Thursday,

and that the official unveiling is now all that remains.

The 20-year-old Brazilian is expected to be the first signing of an eagerly anticipated transfer window,

followed by fellow defender Jose Cordoba.

Four Lads’ post read: “Jefte.” The player arrived and passed a medical yesterday [May 23].

“As stated by multiple sources a few days ago. Except for the formal club announcement,

everything has been completed. Arrival number one.”

Jefte through the Rangers’ door, but how many more?

With Jefte nearly finished and Cordoba looking practically finished, Rangers are only scratching the surface.

Philippe Clement is well aware of the difficulty of this summer’s recruitment challenge.

They just have to start well or his career is jeopardised right away –

the Light Blues’ slow start may have lost them the title this season,

with Celtic not as dominant as they were last year.

Borna Barisic and John Lundstram appear to be on their way out. Loanees will return to their respective clubs,

while Abdallah Sima and Oscar Cortes are two names Clement wants to regain.

Everything must be done to keep Player of the Season nominees Jack Butland and James Tavernier,

who have three and two seasons remaining on their contracts, respectively; the custodian,

in particular, has received excellent reviews and has been linked with a return to the Premier League.

With various exits having varying degrees of likelihood, it is on to Clement and his wider team to ensure that the quality and quantity are balanced.

They’re off to a good start and could have two or three additional customers by next weekend.
