“The race is sealed” – Fabrizio Romano confirms crysencio summerville’s summer exit

The most recent information regarding Crysencio Summerville‘s future at Leeds United has been revealed by Fabrizio Romano.

Summerville has been heavily linked to Chelsea and Liverpool ahead of the summer, but he will be preparing for Leeds’ Championship play-off final against Southampton.

Due to his accomplishments throughout the 2023–24 season, the 22-year-old has gained the respect of some of Europe’s top teams.

Summerville was named the Championship’s POTS last month, surpassing both Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall and Sammie Szmodics with 21 goals and 10 assists in all competitions.

Since Summerville’s contract at Elland Road only has two years left on it, the outcome of this summer will likely determine his long-term prospects.

Romano shares update on Summerville’s future at Leeds

While many of his teammates moved on after being demoted, Summerville defied convention last summer by choosing to quietly and amicably force a leave.

Nobody could object to him returning to the Premier League if Leeds were to lose to Southampton, and it has already been stated that he is the most likely to be sold in such a scenario.

Summerville is projected to fetch more than £30 million from Leeds; however, if that price increases, Leeds will be in a better position to hold onto him and possibly extend an offer for a new contract.

However, transfer expert Romano has shared a new update on the state of play with Summerville to Caught Offside, suggesting that big clubs are expected to test both his and Leeds’ resolve.

He said: “Staying with Chelsea, they’re one of the names being linked with Leeds United’s talented young winger Crysencio Summerville. The race is open, but with nothing close or imminent right now.

“There are really many clubs tracking him – I already reported about Liverpool last month, and for sure, Summerville is expected to get a top club chance in the summer, but again, nothing is close now.”

What is Summerville’s stance on a Leeds exit?

Summerville is not expected to force through a move this summer, irrespective of the outcome of Sunday’s play-off final, as per Team Talk.

It is said Summerville does not want to damage the relationship he has built with the supporters and club this season.

With that said, 49ers Enterprises have already acknowledged key player sales will be needed this summer if Leeds remain in the Championship, and there won’t be many with a higher value than him.

Hopefully Leeds can get the job done this weekend so Summerville can continue his development as a key player at Elland Road, but now in the Premier League.
