The Whites winger Willy Gnonto has been left out of Italy manager Luciano Spalletti’s 30-man provisional roster for the 2018 European Championship.

The Gli Azzurri manager has selected his first roster,

which will be reduced to 26 before the competition begins on June 14.

Gnonto has been in and out of Italy’s senior squad since making his debut two summers ago,

becoming the country’s youngest goal scorer in the process.

Since Roberto Mancini‘s departure as national team manager,

Gnonto’s engagement with the main group has decreased,

with him focusing primarily on the Under-21s, for whom he is still eligible and crucial.

Spalletti has selected Federico Chiesa, Stephan El Shaarawy,

Riccardo Orsolini, Giacomo Raspadori, Mateo Retegui, Gianluca Scamacca,

and Mattia Zacagni as the offensive possibilities in his inaugural  squad,

all of whom play in the top flight in their respective leagues.

Gnonto has improved in the second half of the season for Leeds and might

yet play a significant role in the club’s promotion back to the Premier League on Sunday.

The 20-year-old is expected to start for Daniel Farke‘s United team against Southampton at Wembley Stadium.
