Injuries to two of the key players as the Leeds United vs. Southampton match approaches

Dr Rajpal Brar says Patrick Bamford of Leeds United is unlikely to play the whole ninety minutes against Southampton in the play-off final.

According to the injury expert, the Englishman will need to start partial training by now and complete a couple of full training sessions in order to play on Sunday, May 26.

The 30-year-old might experience chronic pain in that region and be unable to heal in time for the match, since he missed the second leg against Norwich as well.

Brar, a sports scientist and physical therapist, exclusively spoke to MOT Leeds News about Bamford.

Football players put a lot of force on their patellar tendon, which is located beneath the kneecap, particularly when they jump and land.

“Mini trauma probably refers to a bump to that region.

The worst scenario in this situation would be persistent discomfort and suffering there.

“He would need to return to at least some level of training and possibly complete a couple of full training sessions prior to the game in order for him to be available for the final.

But it’s quite improbable that he plays the entire ninety minutes.
Leeds United worries about the injury of Patrick Bamford.

Bamford hasn’t been a consistent starter this year, seeing more bench time than starts, but Daniel Farke will want him to give it his all in the championship game.

With his direct running style, the 30-year-old can stretch defenses and gives so much off the ball.

With nine goals in all competitions this season, Farke would be inclined to start him in the second half of the championship game if there’s any chance of getting him to play even thirty minutes.
