Jose Cordoba tells friends who he’s joining out of Rangers and Norwich
Football Insider has been informed by sources that Jose Cordoba, a defender for Levski Sofia,
has expressed his desire to join the Rangers this summer.
The 22-year-old Cordoba has an offer from Norwich City, but he has made it clear that he would prefer to
transfer to Ibrox over the English Championship team.
After intensive talks over the past month, sources suggest that a deal with Rangers for the central defender is
currently at a “advanced” level.
On May 14, Football Insider disclosed that Rangers was leading the competition to sign him, with Besiktas and
French clubs vying for his signing; Norwich’s interest surfaced subsequently.
Ranger’s pursuit of Jose Cordoba enters advanced talks.
With 27 appearances in the Bulgarian First League last season, the defender—whose contract is set to expire in
2028—aided his team in finishing fourth.
The center back joined Levski Sofia in 2021, first on loan before his contract was extended.
He has since made 89 appearances for the team and won the Bulgarian Cup.
Having started all eight of his country’s recent games, Cordoba has amassed 10 caps as a regular international
for the Panama national team.
At barely 22 years old, the defender has already competed internationally and won awards.
Football Insider was informed by Alan Hutton that the Green Bay Packers may entertain bids for Connor
Goldson this summer, although Leon Balogun‘s contract will expire at the end of the current campaign unless a
new agreement is made.
