£45m+ Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg: Spurs and a Premier League team are planning a trade.

Spurs want to sign a striker in the Premier League.

Dominic Solanke, a striker for Bournemouth, is the player in question here.

After a fantastic season in the Premier League, the 26-year-old, who has been somewhat of a journeyman throughout his career thus far,

has found a home at Bournemouth and is drawing interest from other teams.

Speaking of talkSPORT, Alex Crook reports that Spurs are among the teams considering a summer raid for the Englishman.

Although acquiring Solanke would require a “hefty bid,”

Bournemouth owner Bill Foley is aware that a deal might be reached this summer.

When the transfer market opens, Spurs won’t be the only Premier League team hoping to acquire Solanke.

The 26-year-old is reportedly of great interest to Eddie Howe’s Newcastle team as well.

It is reasonable to surmise that Spurs will pay a similar amount given that Newcastle may need to spend £60 million to convince the Cherries to part with Solanke.

A significant transfer controversy involving the former player for Chelsea and Liverpool may be ready to unfold.
How Harry Kane and Solanke compare

There has been a resemblance between Solanke’s play this season and that of former Spurs star Harry Kane.

The center forward for Bournemouth scored 19 goals in the Premier League this season, trailing only Erling Haaland (27 goals), Cole Palmer (22 goals), and Alexander Isak (21 goals) in the race for the Golden Boot.

Additionally, this was Solanke‘s finest comeback to the Premier League by a wide margin. Over his career, the attacker has not scored nearly 19 goals in total from six prior top-flight campaigns.

Naturally, Solanke’s stats are nowhere near as impressive as those of Kane in the Premier League; in fact,

Harry Maguire, an England teammate, calls the captain “the best striker in the world.”

Nonetheless, the 19 goals the Cherries forward scored in three of his ten complete Premier League seasons surpassed Kane’s total,

demonstrating his ability to maintain the goal-scoring pace Spurs lost when he left.

Having said that, Solanke might be the only option available to Spurs when they search for a Kane substitute this summer.

There’s good reason to believe Spurs should pursue this deal, and as Daniels notes, they may once again have a striker comparable to their record scorer.
