On the last day of the season, Forest defeated Burnley 2-1 to formally seal their place in the Premier League; as a result,

Luton Town was forced to make an instant return to the Championship.

Due to their violations of the Premier League Profit and Sustainability Rules (PSR),

Nottingham was docked four points in March. Earlier this month, their appeal against the punishment was turned down.

Following the conclusion of the season,

Forest has officially announced the release of three members of the first team.

After their contracts expire this summer, Wayne Hennessey, Felipe, and Cheikhou Kouyate will leave the team.

The group of three joined the team in 2022–23, their first season back in the top division,

where they finished four points clear of the relegation zone.

In January 2023, Felipe, a Brazilian defender, came from Atletico Madrid.

He put in a few strong performances to assist his new team avoid relegation.

The 35-year-old announced in March that he will be retiring from professional football this summer,

capping an incredible playing career that saw him play for both club and country in excess of 420 times.

Following his arrival from Crystal Palace in 2022, former West Ham player Kouyate made 36 appearances

over his two Premier League seasons with the team.

Hennessey only made nine club appearances, none of which came this season,

but he was a key figure in the goalkeeping department and behind the scenes.

Gio Reyna, Divock Origi, Nuno Tavares, Gonzalo Montiel,

and Rodrigo Ribeiro will all depart the City Ground at the conclusion of their loan periods, Forest has also confirmed.

Reyna was a surprise January arrival after falling out of favour at Borussia Dortmund,

but the USMNT attacker failed to score registered just one assist in 10 games for Nuno Espirito Santo’s side.
