Nottingham Forest appoint Roberto De Zerbi as head coach, as Nuno Espirito Santo accept to replace Pep Guardiola

Roberto De Zerbi is wanted by Nottingham Forest
It’s safe to assume that, even if it’s scarcely shocking, this news would nonetheless be extremely shocking if Forest were to succeed.

Italian football journalist Paolo Bargiggia claims that Forest is eager to talk about the possibility of using the Italian to take Espirito Santo’s place.

But the Reds are not alone—De Zerbi is ranked first on the management shortlists of AC Milan and Marseille.

Just before Brighton lost to Manchester United on the last day,

De Zerbi made an announcement that he was quitting Brighton.

Under the 44-year-old, Brighton has really taken off,

and the previous season they participated in the Europa League and made it to the round of 16.

Considering how highly Guardiola had praised De Zerbi earlier in the season, it came as a bit of a surprise that he was leaving.

During his tenure at the AMEX Stadium, De Zerbi managed 89 games, overseeing 38 victories and 29 losses.

The connection that has been found between De Zerbi and Forest isn’t very surprising,

but it would be shocking if a deal could be reached.

Such a respected coach has very high standards, and bigger clubs are already taking adoring looks at him.

De Zerbi’s appealing style of play has drawn attention, although the Seagulls’

2023–2024 consistency was severely damaged by the European campaign.

Although his team usually plays in a 4-2-3-1 formation, the head coach aggressively presses opponents when they don’t have the ball.

Although Forest would probably benefit greatly from such industrious,

determined style of play, supporters shouldn’t get too attached to De Zerbi just yet.
