Michael Stewart Outlines Why Adam Idah is Better For Celtic Than Lawrence Shankland
With the 2023–24 football season coming to an end, focus shifts to the summer transfer market and
transactions.
In fact, one anticipates some significant movement in terms of incomings and outgoings at Celtic within the
next months.
A few loan players need to be decided upon, and the team has to be strengthened in a number of areas.
It’s debatable if the Hoops should keep Paulo Bernardo in Glasgow for the foreseeable future, but Adam Idah
would be a great addition to the team.
The Irishman has made a significant impression since joining Celtic at the start of February, contributing to two
goals and scoring eight himself.
He has had an incredibly successful loan term, scoring goals for his team at pivotal moments.
The 23-year-old has been essential for the champions throughout the closing stretch, but rumors of a Celtic
trade for Lawrence Shankland or Bojan Miovski has struggled to calm. This summer will tell if the player joins
the team permanently.
Michael Stewart firmly maintained that Shankland, who has scored 31 goals this season, wouldn’t perform any
better in Hoops than what Idah has thus far when the matter was recently discussed on BBC Sportsound.
[BBC Sportsound via Football Scotland] he said Shankland is not strong at playing at that pace, which is when
Celtic play at their best and stretch teams out behind.
“Sheringham is comparable to Teddy Sheringham.” I believe Shankland needs to be playing every week, thus he
couldn’t have the same impact on how many games he has as Idah.
Idah has made an effect and truly makes you consider adding him because he hasn’t been playing every week
but has nonetheless had a significant impact. Lawrence might not be able to do that, in my opinion.
