Leicester City signs Burkina Faso international as potential replacement for Iheanacho

Leicester City, a new Premier League team,

is reportedly interested in signing Burkina Faso international Mohamed Konate as a possible Kelechi Iheanacho replacement.

The Foxes are preparing for the exit of club legend Jamie Vardy and Iheanacho, w

hose contracts expire next month, though an extension for Vardy hasn’t been ruled out.

After dominating for Russian team Akhmat Grozny this season and finishing as the top scorer with 13 goals in all competitions,

Konate has drawn the attention of the Championship winners.

In addition, the 26-year-old will become a free agent in one month,

which will entice Leicester to sign him above other suitors.

Konate is also being connected to Brest and Lyon;

however, a move to the former Premier League winners may be challenging given

the possibility of playing European football with the two French teams.

After seven years, it is almost a given that Iheanacho would leave the King Power,

and he has plenty of suitors both inside and outside of England.
