Just in; Rangers’strike deal’ over defender; Celtic ‘offer’ new contracts to two players.

Celtic and Rangers are gearing up for the Scottish Cup final this weekend, with the Old Firm once again taking center stage at Hampden Park. The Glasgow titans faced off in the Premiership less than a fortnight ago, with Celtic emerging victorious before completing their title bid in style.

Rangers will be out for vengeance this weekend, but Celtic have a double up on offer, and they have already demonstrated their

superiority over their neighbours this season. As the two teams prepare for the big final, we’ve compiled all of the latest news on both sides.

Rangers are allegedly close to signing Panama international Jose Cordoba. Philippe Clement understands that if he is to close

the gap on Celtic this summer, he must dramatically upgrade his team.

With that in mind, the Daily Record reports that Cordoba has agreed to a contract for roughly £3.2 million,

including add-ons, with an upfront fee of closer to £2 million. The 22-year-old defender has recently been playing in Bulgaria

, having joined Levski Sofia in 2022. He has ten caps for his country, making through to the senior side in the same year he moved to Bulgaria.

While Rangers focus on early signings, Celtic are reportedly giving two enhanced agreements to current first-team players.

The Daily Record claims that both Daniel Kelly and Rocco Vata have been offered new contracts.

Vata is out of contract totally this summer, while Kelly’s current contract will end in January.

Vata is already free to enter with a pre-contract agreement with any team outside of Scotland, while Kelly will be able to do so beginning July 1. To avoid losing either, Celtic are alleged to have offered increased agreements to both players.
