The Bayern Munich manager search has devolved into a complete disgrace. It’s very likely that the person appointed now won’t have been among the top five or even the top ten picks.

Vincent Kompany was incredibly fortunate for the Burnley manager to move up the list of alternatives on Monday. It’s not clear what to do next for Bayern Munich after he was relegated with Burnley and partially failed at Anderlecht.

What about Nuno and Howe, then? Bild claims that Bayern is now considering less apparent candidates, most likely as a result of the obvious candidates declining.

That includes the Newcastle United and Nottingham Forest managers. For Howe, it’s stated he was the topic of internal conversations at Säbener Straße, but is no longer thought to be a serious candidate.

With Nuno, he’s just edged forward as someone who is under consideration and an example that Bayern are looking outside of the box.
