Josh Murphy, a winger for Oxford United, is being linked to Sunderland and West Brom for the summer.

Last weekend, U’s manager Des Buckingham expressed concerns about the player’s future, alerting potential

suitors.

Murphy scored twice in the League One play-off final between Oxford and Bolton at Wembley,

giving the team 10 goals overall this season. The player’s deal is scheduled to end this summer.

Buckingham responded, “I may have had a chat with him when we were up on the gantry lifting the trophy,” in

response to a question concerning Murphy’s future.

After this season’s loan stint, Bolton Wanderers is anticipated to move to sign West Brom full-back Zac

Ashworth to a permanent contract.

Alan Nixon of Patreon says that the League One team wants the player back in their ranks even though he

hasn’t seen any playing time this season. The 21-year-old did not make the matchday roster for any of the play-

off games after playing 23 times for Bolton during the season.

With just six first-team appearances under his belt, Ashworth’s contract with the Championship team runs until

2025.
