Oliver Norwood, a midfielder for Sheffield United, is a target for many Championship teams, including Sunderland,
who have increased their interest in him.
It was revealed last week that the player’s six-year tenure at Bramall Lane would finish at the end of the current campaign,
after more than 250 appearances for the Blades.
The former Northern Ireland international was given the opportunity to bid farewell,
even though he was not present for Tottenham Hotspur’s 3-0 victory yesterday.
The Yorkshire-based team also bid farewell to the Premier League.
Norwood was in the starting lineup at the beginning of the season,
but he lost favor in the latter stages. He did, however, net the game-winning goal in November during the team’s season-opening
triumph over Wolverhampton Wanderers.

He is a skilled player with a lot of experience winning the Championship.
Four times, he has been promoted from the second division: twice with Sheffield United,
once each with Brighton & Hove Albion and Fulham. It comes as no surprise, then, that several teams are vying for his signing.
Football Insider reports that Sunderland, Hull City,
and Watford are the three divisional teams that have already expressed interest in the 33-year-old.
Despite being without a management,
the Black Cats want to improve upon their disappointing 16th-place finish from this season,
therefore they are trying to add experienced cover to their roster.
However, Norwood is a sought-after player, with interest from other MLS clubs.
While new players are anticipated, the first priority is finding a long-term replacement for Michael Beale,
who left the Stadium of Light in February.
The club reportedly hopes to select someone in the upcoming weeks, with Liam Rosenior,
the former Hull manager, emerging as the front-runner.
