Sunderland now ready to ‘make compromises’ to land ‘top’ manager target this summer
It’s ‘clear’ who Sunderland’s ‘top target’ is
A significant clue regarding the potential outcome of Sunderland‘s pursuit of their “top” manager target has
been revealed by a journalist.
Although Sunderland’s season ended more than two weeks ago, the club is still months into its hunt for a new
manager.
There was speculation that the team would be waiting for the European leagues to conclude,
because Will Still defeated Rennes 2-1 in his final game at Reims yesterday.

Although the 31-year-old has been the talk of the town in recent weeks, there has been very little information on
the expected appointment date of the new manager on Wearside.
Who Sunderland’s “top target” is is “clear.”
But now, reporter Michael Graham has provided a new update on the search and a major tip on the identity of
the “top target.”
Graham wrote: “I think it’s been clear who SAFC’s top choice is for months,” in response to a fan on X who
inquired as to whether he was targeting Still or Liam Rosenior. Watch to see if they can get him in reality.
He continued, saying, “Sunderland willing to make concessions on ‘the model’ for their main target—not
sweeping, drastic alterations. Watch what transpires.
Will Still is able to restore Wearside’s faith.
Although we wouldn’t say it out loud, it seems quite clear that Will Still is the one we are willing to put
everything on the line for.
We can definitely see things picking up speed now that the French season is almost over.
Reims’ transfer policy, which is akin to Sunderland’s from the previous few years, has been the subject of
ongoing criticism.
However, Graham’s X post implies that Kristjaan Speakman and Kyril Louis-Dreyfus are willing to give Still
more control over the transfer process and turn to players with greater experience.
If Sunderland wants to return to the level they were in their Championship debut,
they will need to make adjustments to the model this summer, whether or not they sign Still.
Now that football is ended, the Black Cats have no reason not to bring Still in for the next few weeks.
There will be a lot more faith in the Stadium of Light if that is possible.
