Stoke city confirms the signing of  Viktor Johansson from Rotherham United.

In the summer transfer window, Stoke has already moved, having won the race to capture Rotherham United goalkeeper Viktor Johansson.

“We are thankful to Jared for his efforts in the role during the past year and wish him well for the future,” Walters stated on the club website. The process of finding a replacement will start right away, and as soon as an appointment is set, we will let our supporters know.

Supporters should rest assured that while an appointment is being made, player recruitment will proceed as usual.

After less than a year on the job, Stoke City is parting ways with Head of Recruitment Jared Dublin.

The former scout was hired in June of last year by Ricky Martin, but he is also going on following a change in technical director, with Martin being replaced by Potters great Jon Walters.

After six years with Sheffield United, where he assisted the team in achieving promotions between 2017 and 2023, Dublin joined Reading.

But now that the Martin/Alex Neil dictatorship has fallen, Dublin’s impending departure represents yet another tearing of the bonds with the erstwhile football department power brokers.

Dublin was praised when he was appointed for his ability to reach out to various markets and identify lesser-known talents.

Under Martin and Dublin, players such as Andre Vidigal, Ryan Mmaee, Mehdi Leris, and Nikola Jojic arrived, along with unqualified successes like Wouter Burger. However, Stoke’s season was underwhelming overall, and Neil was fired in December as a result.
