Rafferty Agrees Rotherham Deal
Defender to sign for League One side
A contract to join League One team Rotherham United has been agreed to by Joe Rafferty.
When his Pompey contract expires this summer, he will formally join the Yorkshire team,
who were demoted from the Championship the previous season.
After joining the Blues in July 2022, the right-back played in 68 games for the club after leaving Preston.
And he leaves Fratton Park having contributed significantly to John Mousinho’s team winning League One.
Joe has our best wishes for success in this next phase of his career on behalf of the entire Pompey team.
However, the most recent report on Football League World suggests that Conn-Clarke would do well to lower his sights,
setting them on the third-tier options of the Latics or the Posh where he is more likely to gain more consistent game time given the gap that already
exists between the National League and League One, let alone between the National League and Premier League.
Conn-Clarke, 22, had a stint on loan with the National League team before signing a permanent contract with Altrincham last summer.
He had previously signed with Burnley in 2020, but he never played for the Clarets at the professional level.
Instead, he was loaned to Chorley, a team in the National League North.
