Mikel Arteta outlines what Arsenal must do to defeat Man City and win the league.

Arsenal and Manchester City fought all the way to the end of the season for the Premier League championship.

In the end, Man City, led by Pep Guardiola, defeated the Gunners to win the league title for the fourth time in a row.
Two seasons in a row, Arsenal has challenged Man City for the Premier League title; on both instances, Arsenal has come in second.

Following Man City’s 3-1 victory over West Ham, Arsenal’s 2-1 victory over Everton was rendered inconsequential as Pep Guardiola’s club emerged victorious in the league by a margin of two points.

They appear to be unstoppable, and not even Arsenal’s incredible 2024 campaign was enough to overcome them.

Arsenal finished 2024 with 89 points and only one loss, although they were unable to clinch their first league title since 2004.
Since Arteta was Pep Guardiola’s assistant at Man City from 2016 to 2019, he is aware of how high their standards are.

In his post-match press conference, the manager of Arsenal responded to a question about whether it would take 100 points to defeat Man City the next season:

Indeed. I know what it takes because I was present when we completed 100 points. I am aware of what transpired, and this is the stage.

“No one needs to explain what the level is because I lived there every day for four years and I know what needs to be done to get there.” We are headed in the right direction, not just for this season but for the rest as well.
