Leicester City’s £11,000-a-week star striker finally to join Aston villa on free transfer – Fabrizio Romano confirms.

According to Soccernet.ngSuper Eagles and Leicester City striker Kelechi Promise Iheanacho has

turned down a new contract offer from the team due to interest from Unai Emery’s Aston Villa.

This season in the EFL Championships, the 27-year-old striker has only received ten league starts;

Enzo Maresca has favored Zambian Patson Daka to lead the Foxes’ attack.

Wilfred Ndidi and Iheanacho are nearing the conclusion of their careers at Leicester City because their contracts expire in June 2024.

Iheanacho isn’t interested in staying at King Power Stadium, even though the defensive midfielder has his sights set on a transfer to a top-six Premier League team.

Football Insider reports that the highest-scoring African in FA Cup history  was presented with an enhanced contract offering a £65,000 monthly salary,

but the Nigerian striker turned down the offer.

Iheanacho’s outburst may have been caused by a number of factors, most notably his lack of playing time.

As a backup for Ollie Watkins, Aston Villa is reportedly interested in bringing the 2021 FA Cup champion to Villa Park, via Football Fancast.

Under Unai Emery, the Villains have had a fantastic season and are focused on earning a spot in the UEFA Champions League the next year.

Iheanacho would have the advantage of playing with talented players like Douglas Luiz,

Leon Bailey, Ollie Watkins, and Moussa Diaby if he were to sign with Villa.

Aston Villa view Iheanacho as an experienced Premier League forward,

representing a summer bargain that could make all the difference next season at Villa Park.

Iheanacho averaged a goal per two games while starting ten games for Leicester, scoring five goals and setting up one.

After being relegated on the final matchday of the previous season,

the Foxes have successfully regained their place in the English Premier League.
