There has been some interesting chatter about one of Sunderland’s Championship rivals.

Sunderland’s next Championship opponents are preparing for interest in their head coach.

Burnley were relegated from the Premier League under former Manchester City star Vincent Kompany,

barely a year after blasting to promotion from the Championship.

However, Fabrizio Romano reported on Monday evening that the renowned centre-back may be in high demand.

Kompany has been linked with German club Bayern Munich, with Thomas Tuchel’s future uncertain following a trophyless season.

The Belgian manager is also rumoured to be being considered by Premier League team Brighton & Hove Albion following the departure of Roberto De Zerbi.

On Twitter, Romano stated: “Vincent Kompany has been considered as an option at several clubs in the recent days despite relegation with Burnley.

“FC Bayern has reportedly discussed Kompany internally among potential contenders for the position.

Brighton are currently deciding on a new coach.

Burnley and Sunderland will face each other at least twice next season following The Clarets’ relegation.
