De Zerbi says he has no job lined up after his unexpected departure from brighton

After leaving Brighton and Hove Albion too soon, Roberto De Zerbi is hoping to sign with a new team in time for the 2019–20 season.

But while he waits for a new opportunity, the Italian is happy to consume cigarettes and “watch 100 games per week.”

Albion agreed to terminate De Zerbi’s contract two years early, and they have already started the process of finding his replacement.

The 44-year-old’s historic career at the Amex Stadium came to an end on Sunday with a 2-0 loss to Manchester United. He said he did not have another job lined up despite reports linking him to numerous elite European teams.

“It shouldn’t be a problem if I have to stay at home for three, four, or five months because I will work,” he declared.

I’ll be working on researching various teams, games, and coaching philosophies.

Football is a developing sport. Every year is unique, therefore maintaining your current level is essential if you hope to remain at the top.

It’s difficult for me without football, so I’ll smoke more smokes! Before the season begins, I want to have the answer. However, there isn’t a team at the time.

“Yes, I hope to work, but in the interim, I’ll watch roughly 100 games a week while I wait for the next opportunity or solution.”

After an exceptional sixth-place finish and an FA Cup semifinal appearance the previous season, De Zerbi guided Brighton to the last 16 of the Europa League and 11th place in the Premier League this season.

His departure from the club was due to a difference of outlook between himself and Tony Bloom, the owner of Albion.

Paul Barber, the club’s chief executive, acknowledged that replacing a “top coach” would be difficult but said that the club had no restrictions on what could be accomplished.

We’re realistic about the relative success we’ve experienced over the last several seasons, he remarked. However, we remain aspirational and believe that there is no limit to our abilities.

“He is an excellent coach who we were well-acquainted with before to his arrival. Our expectations were exceeded by him, especially during the first season.

“It will undoubtedly be challenging to replace him, but we don’t wait for a coach to retire before getting to work. “You can’t guarantee because you don’t know people’s circumstances at the time the incumbent coach leaves, but we work really hard on our coach homework,” the person who oversees our process says. “We want to make sure we always know who the next coach might be.”

Barber used an instance from November’s 1-0 Europa League triumph over AEK Athens on the road as an example of De Zerbi’s “unquenchable thirst” for the game.

And he thinks the former coach of Shakhtar Donetsk has what it takes to lead one of the top teams in football.

He definitely possesses the tactical knowledge and nous, accordindag to Barber. He has the ability to inspire the athletes.

“He is incredibly knowledgeable and passionate about football.” We were in the Athens stadium’s basement. He opens his laptop to watch another game as soon as he gets on the coach.

The need to keep learning, seeing more, and getting ready for the next game is almost like an insatiable thirst.

“His life is football. To be the greatest coach he can be, he has made many sacrifices. Could he be a head coach of a premier league team? He possesses all the qualities.
