After the 2023–24 season ends, Sunderland defender Dan Ballard has joined with a new management business.

The Northern Ireland international has established himself as a vital member of

the Black Cats and among the top center backs in the Championship since joining from Arsenal two years ago.

Since 2022, Ballard has participated in 65 games for Sunderland across all competitions,

including 42 league games in the previous season.

Ballard signed a contract with General Sports Worldwide (GSW),

a “international full-service sports marketing and management agency,

” after Sunderland’s season ended. This Thursday, the company’s social media pages revealed the two parties’ agreement.

“Welcome, Dan Ballard,” GSW said after signing Ballard.

We are happy to announce that CH Dan Ballard, of Sunderland and Northern Ireland,

has joined the GSW Football team. We are eager to embark on this trip.

The player signed a long-term contract with the team last summer that would run until 2027,

thus Sunderland’s transfer boss Kristjaan Speakman is protected in the event that bids are made this summer.

The center-back is also not anticipated to leave the club this summer.

Ballard’s deal with GSW does not imply that he will likely make a move this summer.

In the case of a transfer, Sunderland is anticipated to demand roughly £20 million for

Ballard’s services due to the duration of his contract and his significance to the team.
