Unlikely backing from Celtic foe for Rangers ace Cantwell

Rangers star Chris Sutton has given Todd Cantwell the unexpected support ahead of the Old Firm game next week.

The former Celtic striker thinks Philippe Clement ought to give the 26-year-old the go-ahead to

open the Saturday noon match at Celtic Park.

Cantwell or Tom Lawrence should start in the attacking midfield position for Rangers,

according to Sutton and colleague analyst James McFadden, following yesterday’s 4-1 victory over Kilmarnock,

which was broadcast live on Sky Sports.

Cantwell and Sutton have been at odds for a while now,

with the pundit calling the footballer “TikTok Todd” and other cheap jabs at him.

In retaliation, Cantwell called Sutton a “attention seeker.”

It appears that Sutton is supporting his teammate Lawrence by allowing the former Norwich City player to play against Celtic.

Lawrence scored a beautiful goal against Killie, and Sutton commented,

“He made an impact when he came on.” I still believe that the Rangers supporters haven’t seen the best of him yet.

“It appears that Sutton is supporting his teammate Lawrence by allowing the former Norwich City player to play against Celtic.

“They bring something different,” Faddy continued. You can see that quality in Tom Lawrence,

who plays more as a No. 10 and the striker’s supporter.

“He has excellent technique and a strong desire to move the ball quickly in order to pass or shoot.

Todd Cantwell is a quality individual who also contributes effort and vigor.

In an effort to disrupt the opposition and create space to influence the game,

And Sutton answered, ‘Do you? Not in my case. About knowledge, guilt, and the ability for someone to perceive a pass.

Cantwell, in my opinion, just edges over Lawrence.

Lawrence is most likely a stronger finisher than Cantwell overall. Their characteristics are marginally different.

“John Lundstram, Mohamed Diomande, and another person will be involved.

” Cantwell will play for an hour, and Lawrence for the final half, I believe, so it will likely be comparable.”
