Ipswich Town urged not to fork out £35m for Chelsea striker Armando Broja learning his Valuation

Give Me Sport reports that Wolverhampton Wanderers are interested in signing Chelsea attacker Armando Broja.

The Midlands club appears to be anxious to improve their striker department this summer,

which is not surprising given that Matheus Cunha may be the subject of significant interest in coming months.

Southampton striker Che Adams is already said to be on their radar,

and they may have a strong chance of signing him given that his contract at St Mary’s expires at the end of the season.

The Saints may be expecting that promotion to the Premier League will increase their chances of keeping the Scotland international,

but a return to the Midlands could entice the 27-year-old.

And it appears like Gary O’Neil’s side will end up signing the midfielder ahead of other teams,

which is a boost for the former AFC Bournemouth manager.

Give Me Sport believes Wolves would target the striker position regardless of whether Adams signs,

which might lead to a move for Broja in the coming months.

Broja, 22, hasn’t thrived since recovering from a devastating knee injury suffered last season,

but he previously performed well for Vitesse and Southampton.

He was loaned out by his parent club again last season, and if Mauricio Pochettino’s plans do not include him,

it may only be a matter of time before he is sold.

The Blues have spent heavily under their current owner in recent years,

and they may balance the books by cashing in on the Albania international.

Armando Broja is the latest to be linked with Ipswich Town

According to Give Me Sport, Wolves, Ipswich Town, and Brentford are all interested in Broja,

with Simon Phillips reporting on the latter two.

The Tractor Boys may be in a stronger position to sign the midfielder following their promotion,

but they will face stiff competition, with Borussia Dortmund also prominently connected.

However, he is expected to cost roughly £35 million if any team wants to attract him away from Stamford Bridge.

Wolves are currently unwilling to pay that much.

Ipswich Town should not seek to sign Armando Broja permanently.

Ipswich cannot afford to spend £35 million on a single player, as a multitude of issues need to be addressed.

The full-back position may require greater depth,

while the center-back position may require an injection of talent to increase their prospects of survival at the conclusion of next season.

With Lewis Travis retiring, the midfield requires more depth and talent,

as well as a long-term replacement for Sam Morsy and Massimo Luongo.

A successor for Omari Hutchinson should also be a priority,

as his 11 goals and six assists in all competitions during the 2023/24 season made a significant difference for the Tractor Boys.

The striker situation is critical,

but spending £35 million on one player is simply not feasible given the amount of work that needs to be done at Portman Road this summer.
