Spurs have reportedly held talks to sign Nottingham Forest star Morgan Gibbs-White this summer, as per Football Insider.

After joining to City Ground from Wolverhampton Wanderers back in 2022,

the 24-year-old has been showcasing encouraging performances in the Premier League over the last couple of campaigns.

After helping his team avoid relegation last season, the midfielder has repeated the feat this season,

scoring five goals and registering ten assists in 36 league appearances.

Although Forest aren’t mathematically safe yet,

it is highly improbable that they will be relegated this season even if they lose on the last day because they have a higher goal difference to Luton Town,

who is predicted to return directly to the Championship having gained the promotion last term.

However, according to Football Insider, despite Gibbs-White’s strong achievements in previous years,

Nottingham may be forced to cash in on the Englishman this summer to balance the books after being found guilty of violating FFP guidelines.

Gibbs-White joins Tottenham

According to the report, Tottenham are interested in signing the midfielder and are prepared to make a move

if Nuno Espirito Santo’s team decides to trade the 24-year-old.

According to Football Insider, Spurs have already made negotiations to understand more about

the former Wolves star’s current circumstances before considering a prospective summer move.

It has also been stated that Forest could take a sum of roughly £60 million to sell Gibbs-White,

meaning the Lilywhites will have to pay a high price to bring the Englishman to the freshly restored White Hart Lane.

However, according to the source, Tottenham will have competition for Gibbs-White,

with Newcastle United also interested in signing him.

Ange Postecoglou has already stated that he intends to rebuild the team this summer in order to compete for major titles with the North London club in the future,

with the Australian reportedly considering signing a new number ten to add depth in this position.

Gibbs-White is a gifted player and a dynamic midfielder. He is efficient at taking set pieces,

and has the ability to create opportunities for the attackers, can finish off his chances and also works hard without possession.

If Tottenham recruit the Nottingham Forest star, they could be making a wise decision to strengthen their engine room.

However, it will be intriguing to watch whether Postecoglou’s team is able to secure his signing if he leaves the club during the forthcoming transfer window.
