Tottenham release update on Ange Postecoglou’s future at Spurs after ‘fears’ over former Celtic boss’ brutal rant

An eye-opening tirade on Monday night may not have destroyed former

Celtic manager Ange Postecoglou’s relationship with Tottenham, according to an English report.

The Australian was ferocious at his post-match press conference following Monday’s 2-0 Premier League loss to Man City.

Even though the team gave a good performance,

some Spurs supporters were pleased with the outcome since it means Arsenal,

their North London rivals, are unlikely to win the championship.

A victory would have maintained aspirations for the Champions League.

Postecoglou seemed irritated by that, and video from social media also showed him yelling at a fan behind his dugout.

Before joining Tottenham last summer,

the former Australia manager led Celtic for two years and won five of the six domestic titles during that time.

Tottenham “are confident that Ange Postecoglou is not unhappy at the club,” according to a Daily Telegraph report.

The statement continues, “His frustration was directed solely towards the discussion about whether Tottenham supporters would back City or their team to stop Arsenal from winning the Premier League.”

His tirade “sparked fears among supporters that he was alluded to broader dissatisfaction and that rifts between him and Spurs might already be forming.” Spurs sources have refuted that idea, so the former Celtic manager won’t be leaving,

as people in the organization are aware of the strides he’s made in his first season after leaving the team, even though he was not selected for the Champions League.

“The last 48 hours have revealed to me the foundations are fairly fragile,” Postecoglou stated. That’s how I feel. both inside and outside. All around. It has been a thought-provoking activity.

“The last 48 hours have revealed a fair bit to me and that’s alright, that just means I’ve got to go back to the drawing board on some things. I probably misread the situation on what I think is important in our endeavour to become a winning team but that’s okay, that’s why I’m here.”
