Sunderland fans will love Amad Diallo’s 5-word response after scoring for Manchester United vs Newcastle United

Amad Diallo, a former Sunderland loan player, scored for Manchester United against Newcastle United on Wednesday night.

Diallo, 21, was Sunderland’s hero last season, scoring 14 goals in 39 Championship games and leading the Black Cats to an unexpected sixth-place finish.

There was a lot of speculation regarding his next move, but he would stay at Old Trafford, where he had been in and out of the team under Erik ten Hag.

However, the Ivorian international scored his first Premier League goal for the Red Devils on Wednesday night,

against Sunderland’s north-east rivals, Newcastle United.

Diallo has now started two of United’s past seven games following an injury-plagued season.

He scored United’s second goal in a 3-2 victory over Newcastle United, while also having the most shots,

shorts on target, touches within the opponent area, and take-ons.

Following the game, Diallo made a Sunderland-related comment.

Diallo told the BBC after Manchester United’s much-needed victory over Newcastle: “I scored for Sunderland too.”

Manchester United is now level on points with Newcastle United in seventh,

both on 57 points and having to close a three-point gap on Chelsea in sixth to qualify for the Europa Conference League next season.

Diallo, following a stop-start comeback to Manchester United this season,

could have scored a crucial goal in his team’s quest for European football next season.

It’s also possible that Diallo may play in Europe next season.

Why Sunderland might be rubbing their hands ahead of the summer

Diallo may easily shine next season. He’s making his way into the United team,

and his well-taken goal and entire performance against Newcastle highlight his ability in the final third.

And it comes after a strong loan period with Sunderland, so United may consider Sunderland as a nice option to send their young players.

There are several young Manchester United talents searching for a breakthrough and possibly a new loan club in the summer months.

For the Black Cats, it all depends on who they can select as their new manager this summer.

If the club fails to select a good coach who is well-regarded by other clubs,

they may struggle to attract players not only from Manchester United, but also from other teams.

However, if they can recruit a strong manager,

United may be the first port of call for loan players, considering Diallo’s eventual promotion to the starting lineup.
