Newcastle United equalled Man United’s Premier League record on Wednesday thanks to Lewis Hall

The 19-year-old continued his stellar run of play at left-back and kept his spot in Newcastle United’s starting lineup. Lewis Hall appears to be more at ease wearing a Toon shirt, and supporters are beginning to recognize his immense potential as a player.

Newcastle performed poorly overall against Man United. While there weren’t many standout performances, Hall should be pleased with what he did. And so can Anthony Gordon, the most potent offensive danger for the Magpies.

However, it was Hall who almost started a comeback, looping a stunning long-range shot past Andre Onana to make it 3-2 in stoppage time. Actually, Hall’s second goal of the season at Old Trafford came from a superb strike.

With his first Premier League goal for Newcastle United in stoppage time, Hall tied a record that Manchester United had held since the 2012–13 campaign.

The youngster tied the record set by Manchester United when they won the title 11 years ago by becoming the 20th different player from Newcastle United to score a goal in the Premier League this season.

Since Tino Livramento became the Magpies’ 19th scorer in the 3-0 victory over Wolverhampton Wanderers in March, Newcastle has been in danger of tying that record.

Newcastle United has an opportunity to shatter the record with one game remaining. In their quest for a victory that might earn them European football, Eddie Howe’s team needs one more different player to reach the net against Brentford.

However, they might also create history if a 21st distinct Toon player manages to access the internet. Still, there aren’t many contenders that have the ability to unseat the Red Devils.

Elliott Anderson is the most probable player. He still hasn’t scored a goal for Newcastle, but if he does so against Brentford, he may create history with it. Newcastle’s only real hope is the 21-year-old, who has a strong chance of starting while he develops into an aggressive player.
