Sunderland fired Michael Beale in February, and they have been looking for a new manager for three months.

The season ended earlier this month, ending Mike Dodds‘ interim coaching career, but it seems the team is still

a long way from selecting a long-term replacement.

Will Still has been connected to the Black Cats for a while, and it appears that they are still interested in him

now that it has been confirmed that he is leaving Reims.

Still, a number of other names have also been connected to Sunderland, such as Danny Rohl and Rene Maric,

and former Mainz coach Bo Svensson has just surfaced as a “shock candidate.”

Liam Rosenior has also been on many supporters’ minds since his shocking firing from Hull City last week,

even though there isn’t much of a connection.

The 39-year-old was fired after failing to make the playoffs, and the EFL has already expressed interest in him.

After firing Ian Foster last month, it didn’t take long for Plymouth Argyle to try and sign Rosenior.

But now, according to journalist Alan Nixon, Rosenior has turned down the Pilgrims.

“Liam Rosenior has turned down a quick managerial return with Plymouth Argyle,” he said on his Patreon

page.

Rosenior was quickly contacted by the Green Army following his dismissal at Hull City,

but he declined the offer.

“Since his unexpected departure from the Tigers, Rosenior has drawn interest from other teams,

and Argyle has added his name to their wanted list.”

Does Sunderland want the former Hull head coach?

Although Liam Rosenior hasn’t been discussed much on Wearside, it seems like a lot of supporters would be

curious to know about him.

Journalist Scott Wilson posted the following on We Are Sunderland’s YouTube channel after leaving Hull:

“Liam Rosenior is someone Sunderland wouldn’t have that would be realistically available this summer and

suddenly he is.” Sunderland is currently in the process.

It’s arguable that the coach performed admirably in Yorkshire and was wrongfully fired,

thus it would be shocking if he wasn’t hired by another play-off contender.

If they hadn’t been searching for months, Sunderland might have given his appointment more thought,

which could indicate that they already knew who they wanted.
