Charlie Cresswell of Leeds United was involved in a collision outside Elland Road that severely damaged a

police car just before the team’s crucial play-off semifinal second leg.

According to Telegraph Sport, Cresswell remains eligible for the team even after police investigated the incident

in which his Land Rover Defender collided with a Peugeot police patrol car. Just after 10 a.m., as players

reported to the stadium, police announced they had opened investigations into the circumstances surrounding

the smash.

Witnesses observed 21-year-old defender Cresswell driving his £60,000 car following the crash near the Elland

Road club ticket office. Although the cause of the incident was unclear, the West Yorkshire Police patrol car

suffered extensive damage to both of its front and rear wings as well as its doors. Minor injuries were treated for

by an officer; no other injuries were reported.

Debris from the collision, which had dispersed across the road outside the West Stand, was being cleared by

police as they began their investigation at the scene. After a 0-0 tie in the first leg, Leeds was playing their

biggest game of the season against Norwich, and the drama would have been an unwanted distraction.

Daniel Farke’s team has been using Cresswell as a regular substitute.

“Police were notified of a collision involving a police car and a Land Rover Defender on Elland Road, Leeds,” a

force spokesperson stated at 10.13 a.m. on Thursday. For minor wounds, an officer received medical attention.

There were no other injuries recorded. There are still questions.
