Heckingbottom’s name has recently returned to the headlines, as has Svensson’s,

so it appears that Sunderland owner Kyril Louis-Dreyfus is considering a number of choices at the moment.

To get to this position, three months after Beale’s departure and two weeks since the season’s end,

with no front-runner, implies that Sunderland has no idea what they want in their new manager.
