“In the worst-case scenario, he has done enough this season. He deserves credit for the preseason as well.

Some players, such as Wilfried Gnonto, refused to play or train with the club.

“He’s turned him around and restored his form to where it should be at this point in the season, back to the player he was last season. His man-management skills play a significant role in this.

“There were plenty of signings. Gruev, Joe Rodon, and Ampadu joined, while Connor Roberts was a fantastic addition in January. The manager understands the league and how to get out of it. If they don’t make it out this season, they’ve come close. I do not see why there would be any call for a change.”

Leeds have played some fantastic football this season, and securing 90 points but missing out on automatic promotion would be a huge disappointment at Elland Road.

This kind of form and mindset will undoubtedly be required if Leeds are to pip Norwich to the final and then beat either Southampton or West Brom to gain promotion to the Premier League ahead of the 2024/25 season.
