In addition to playing Kilmarnock tonight to try and win the Scottish Premiership,

Celtic have another important match left for them at the end of the campaign.

A second Glasgow Derby stands between Celtic and the storied

old trophy as the Scottish Cup final approaches, with Brendan Rodgers

hoping to make it two for one on his return to Parkhead.

In his two stays in Glasgow, the Celtic manager has met Rangers 17 times and has won 13 of them.

But Rodgers has faced the Ibrox club twice in the semi-final stages of the Scottish Cup,

and both times he has led our foes to victories of 2-0 and 4-0.

The whistle for the season’s grand finale has been given to Nick Walsh.

Over the course of his career, the 33-year-old has been the star of 32 Celtic games.

Walsh has issued 45 yellow cards, one red card, and ten penalties during that time,

with Celtic having won 15, drawn nine, and lost nine. [Transfermarkt]

Walsh has also officiated three Glasgow Derby matches,

the most notable of which was the team’s 2-1 victory over Rangers in the 2023 Celtic League Cup final.

Additionally, he had a hand in the contentious VAR ruling

that Rangers should have received a penalty in the 3-3 draw at Ibrox earlier this season.

On the touchlines, Walsh will have support from Calum Spence and David Roome,

while Steven McLean will serve as the fourth official.

David McGeachie is supporting the controversial John Beaton, who is leading VAR.

Hopefully, instead of discussing the referees,

we will be discussing a Celtic victory and the great football

on show as Brendan Rodgers attempts to extend his incredible

winning streak in the Scottish Cup

and possibly win his ninth title as the head coach of the Hornets.
