It’s time to guess Eddie Howe’s starting lineup for tonight’s 8 p.m. kickoff at Old Trafford versus Erik ten Hag’s

Manchester United.

Howe is faced with a selection dilemma this time around because Nick Pope, Kieran Trippier, Joelinton, and

Miguel Almiron are all back to full fitness, while Fabian Schar faces a late fitness test following his “really good

progress” from a hamstring injury.

But it’s not an easy choice to make. Howe is cautious about bringing back too many of our big guns too quickly,

despite the obvious temptation to do so given how much we’ve missed them in recent months.

In light of everything mentioned above as well as the significance of tonight’s European six-pointer,

I believe he will choose the following team, and I explain why:

The predicted starting lineup (4-3-3) is as follows: Dubravka, Trippier, Schar, Burn, Hall, Longstaff, Bruno,

Anderson, Gordon, Isak, Jolin.

Murphy, Livramento, and Krafth are out. IN: Joelinton, Schar, and Trippier?

I’ve made cuts and changes to my aim throughout the week. With Pope on the squad, we’re a different team,

but considering the severity of his injuries, I believe he’ll play it conservatively.

Trippier will probably start again at right back because of his versatility, composure under pressure,

and familiarity with Alejandro Garnacho. It may be a bit harsh on Tino Livramento,

but Lewis Hall has been playing excellent left-back this past weekend, and he was exposed several times.

Elliot Anderson received the similar treatment in the 1-1 draw with Brighton from the same midfield trio,

but Joelinton, who started on the left wing in our 3-0 Carabao Cup victory over Manchester United the previous

year, will likely bulk up our left side.

With Alexander Isak up top in the hopes that he has recovered from illness, it would then allow the fleet-footed

Anthony Gordon to start down the right ahead of Jacob Murphy, providing protection for Trippier and the pace

to chase Diogo Dalot.

I believe that our No. 9 will start on a strong bench that may include Harvey Barnes, Miguel Almiron,

and Isak and Wilson since starting them up top would be extremely bold and might leave our midfield a little

light.
