According to TEAMtalk, Ipswich Town will aim to sign Chelsea’s Omari Hutchinson, but a loan seems more likely.

Omari Hutchinson joined Ipswich Town on loan for the 2023/24 season,

giving him his first taste of regular senior football after a successful junior career.

The Chelsea prospect took full use of his opportunity at Portman Road.

With 11 goals and six assists in 50 games,

he became an increasingly essential part of Kieran McKenna’s promotion-winning squad as the season went.

As a result, much chatter has already spread about a probable return to the Tractor Boys for the next season.

TEAMtalk has now made new assertions about the situation.

According to reports, Hutchinson will most likely be loaned out this summer, but Ipswich Town will want to sign him permanently.

It has been reported that Chelsea would try to sign Hutchinson to a new contract,

but ‘it is not unlikely’ that the Stamford Bridge club will accept the best offer.

Next season for Omari Hutchinson.

Given his success in the Championship with Ipswich Town,

Hutchinson appears to be destined for top-flight action when the new season begins.

But where he’ll play needs to be resolved,

with questions to be answered regarding his immediate and long-term future before arrangements for next season can be made.

If Chelsea wish to keep Hutchinson, they must sign him to a new contract this summer.

Otherwise, they risk losing him for nothing next summer.

If the winger decides not to sign a new contract,

a sell before next season is excellent because it assures they still get paid for his services.

It appears that other clubs, in addition to Ipswich Town, are interested in a permanent transfer.

Town’s Reunion Chances

After his loan at Portman Road, I believe Ipswich Town has a decent opportunity of bringing Hutchinson back for a second time.

Their elevation means they can give the 20-year-old the opportunity to play in the top tier of football that his abilities deserve.

That, combined with the fact that he is already familiar with the ways of East Anglia,

must have influenced Chelsea’s thinking.

However, the final decision rests with them, therefore Ipswich will be eagerly awaiting updates.

There’s little doubt Hutchinson’s return to Town would be well-received,

but it remains to be seen whether it will happen, with much to be done before a deal is finalised.
