REPORTS; Odsonne Edouard confesses to Celtic as Crystal Palace’s transfer deadline approaches.

Odsonne Edouard is on the verge of leaving Crystal Palace and admits he still follows Celtic’s results as if he were a fan.

The former Hoops striker has apparently been made available for transfer by the English Premier League club, with new manager Oliver Glasner looking to go in his own direction after already making significant improvements to the squad.

The Frenchman has seven goals this season, but he has been on the margins, Jean Philippe-Mateta has been on fire.

Edouard has scored 18 Premier League goals in 91 games in the last two seasons since leaving Celtic Park, but he is expected to go again this summer. Brendan Rodgers, his former manager, is back in charge and would undoubtedly

welcome a reunion if feasible, but the financial implications could be a sticking barrier.

Nonetheless, the 26-year-old was back in Glasgow yesterday as one of several former players invited as

special guests to the Player of the Year awards ceremony at the Hydro. He said that it’s always wonderful to return and that he still follows his former team’s results.

Speaking on Celtic TV last night, he said: “Yeah, it’s a fantastic night. I’m always glad to return and see the fans and players. Let’s have a good time tonight.”

When asked if he still follows the team’s fortunes, he replied: “Yeah, I watch every game as a fan. And I’m pleased with yesterday’s victory, and I hope we can finish strong and win the title.”
