Nonetheless, the 26-year-old was back in Glasgow yesterday as one of several former players invited as

special guests to the Player of the Year awards ceremony at the Hydro. He said that it’s always wonderful to return and that he still follows his former team’s results.

Speaking on Celtic TV last night, he said: “Yeah, it’s a fantastic night. I’m always glad to return and see the fans and players. Let’s have a good time tonight.”

When asked if he still follows the team’s fortunes, he replied: “Yeah, I watch every game as a fan. And I’m pleased with yesterday’s victory, and I hope we can finish strong and win the title.”
