Yukinari Sugawara is being signed by Everton and Brighton & Hove Albion in the summer window.

Florian Plettenberg, a journalist for Sky Deutschland, at least seems to be reporting that.

He updated fans on the AZ Alkmaar player via X, a platform that was formerly known as Twitter.

With more than a year remaining on his deal, the right-back has contributed eight assists and four goals in 41

games this season.

The 23-year-old, according to Plettenberg, is a “key player” for the Dutch team, and Everton, Brighton,

and other teams have taken notice of his performances.

The reporter continues, stating that the €6 million Japan international is “very likely” to depart the Eredivisie

club in the upcoming window.

Many teams have made inquiries about the fullback, who is reportedly on the want list of Everton, Brighton,

Inter, and VfL Wolfsburg due to an impending departure.

He doesn’t say whether these clubs were the ones to approach Sugawara about a signing, though. In any case,

following this season, the Toffees and Roberto De Zerbi’s team will probably be vying for the AZ defender.
