After accepting a huge new contract, Bucs safety Antoine Winfield Jr. is now the highest-paid defensive back in NFL history.

According to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, Winfield Jr. is inking a four-year, $84.1 million contract with Tampa Bay.

Additionally, the contract guarantees him $45 million.

After the previous season, Winfield, 25, was selected for the first time as a first-team All-Pro.

In addition to recording 76 solo tackles, he tied for the league lead with six forced fumbles.

During his first season, the 2020 second-round pick contributed to his team’s Super Bowl victory.

Even though Winfield Jr. has created history among defensive backs, a few quarterbacks still make far more money than he does.

According to Spotrac, Joe Burrow is expected to earn $65.7 million in total in 2024, followed by Kirk Cousins ($62.5 million) and Justin Herbert ($56.66 million).

Even though Winfield Jr. is still a rookie, he has already made $8.7 million in revenue.

The Bucs went 9-8 last season and advanced to the divisional round of the playoffs with his assistance.
