When he gets back from his post-season vacation, Blues striker Ali Al-Hamadi

is scheduled to have surgery on

his chronic adductor problem, TWTD knows.

Since joining Town in January from AFC Wimbledon, Al-Hamadi has been handling the issue,

and as a result, he withdrew from Iraq’s March international matches.

After celebrating his promotion last week, the 22-year-old went to Dubai with captain Sam Morsy,

while the rest of the team was in Las Vegas.

After asking to be left out of the Iraqi team, Kieran McKenna, the manager, stated: “From a physical point of

view he’s doing OK.” He needs to manage a persistent problem in his adductor region, which requires regular

therapy and medication. The issue will need to be reassessed at the end of the season.

He’ll be free this coming weekend. He needs to have some treatments over the course of the next two weeks

during the international break. Hopefully, this will allow him to play in the match against Blackburn and the

final eight games. However, it is a problem that will need to be resolved before the season ends.

Al-Hamadi will be the second player from Town to undergo an adductor procedure in as many weeks; the first

being defender Janoi Donacien, who underwent surgery near the close of the campaign.

Bailey Clements and Harley Curtis, two former Blues players, were released by Paul Cook’s Chesterfield after

the National League title and a spot in League Two the following season were won by the Spireites, who are

coached by Kieron Dyer and Gary Roberts.
