Tottenham Hotspur defender Japhet Tanganga, who spent the season on loan at Milwall,

is expected to complete a permanent transfer to the Championship club this summer.

The English centre-back started his loan term in South East London in January and has made a good impression since.

Tanganga has played in 18 Championship games this season, starting 17 of them and scoring twice.

It’s no surprise that Millwall is eager to keep the Spurs academy graduate at the Den and has reached an agreement with the Lilywhites, as reported by the Mirror.

Tanganga’s current contract with Tottenham is set to expire in June of the next year,

pushing the club to seek a new home for the defender this season, which they have accomplished.

The 25-year-old’s previous loan spell was mainly unproductive,

as he joined German club Augsburg on a season-long loan in September.

Things did not go as planned, as he did not play a single minute in the Bundesliga this season before returning to North London in January.

Tanganga is a versatile defender who can play centre defence or right back.

The former England U21 international joined the Spurs academy at the age of ten and remained with the club for fourteen years.

In 2020, he renewed his contract with the Lilywhites, extending it until 2025.

Tanganga’s fortunes have improved during his time at Millwall,

and everyone concerned is sure to be pleased with the permanent move.
