Hamilton qualified for the Scottish Championship play-off final against Inverness with a 3-2 win over 10-man Alloa, resulting in a 5-4 aggregate victory.

In an exciting second leg, Alloa’s early pressure paid off as Quinn Coulson scored from close range seven minutes in.

However, the Accies levelled just over 10 minutes later when Reghan Tumilty scored his sixth goal of the season at the back post.

Lewis Smith put them ahead just before the break, and Alloa’s Morgyn Neill was sent off for dissent in the aftermath.

Alloa drew level through Conor Sammon’s goal in the 57th minute,

but they were unable to respond when Ahkeem Rose scored the hosts’ third goal 13 minutes later.

In the Highlands, Billy McKay scored the only goal as Inverness beat Montrose 1-0 to keep their chances of escaping relegation from the Championship alive.

McKay scored shortly before the hour mark in Saturday’s play-off semi-final second leg at the Caledonian Stadium,

ultimately defeating the tenacious League One side following a goalless draw on Tuesday.

Montrose’s hopes of mounting a late comeback were dashed when Blair Lyons was sent off six minutes from time.

Lyons believed he had scored in the first half, but his shot was called out for offside before Cameron Harper hit the post for the hosts.

McKay broke the deadlock by turning in following a corner,

and Thistle held on after Lyons was dismissed  following a clash with Morgan Boyes.

Former Liverpool and England defender Jamie Carragher was in attendance to watch his son James play for Caley.

Blair Henderson’s hat-trick helped Spartans cruise into the League 1 play-off final with a 5-1 win at Peterhead,

capping a 7-2 aggregate victory. Henderson’s late penalty gave Spartans the advantage after the first leg in midweek,

and Cameron Russell put them ahead on Saturday after only three minutes,

tucking home after some confusion in the Peterhead box following a cross.

Henderson then scored after half an hour, and Marc McNulty set up Bradley Whyte for a goal after 62 minutes.

Danny Strachan pulled one back in the 66th minute,

but Peterhead’s faint hopes were dashed moments later when Jason Brown handled on the line and Henderson converted the penalty.

Henderson brought shine to the scoreline and completed his treble in the 78th minute as Spartans set up a two-leg showdown against Dumbarton next week.

The Sons advanced to the final after a 0-0 draw away to Stirling earned them a 2-1 aggregate victory in their semi-final match.

Tony Wallace and Gallagher Lennon had early chances for Dumbarton, but Stirling’s Dale Carrick shot barely wide in the 20th minute.

Dumbarton’s Michael Ruth had a shot pushed off the line, before Callum Crane came close at the other end.

The finest chance for either team came early in the second half,

when Rudi Molotnikov’s shot hit the post for Stirling.

However, it ended goalless as Dumbarton’s lead from the first leg proved decisive in setting up a clash with Spartans.

East Kilbride drew 2-2 in the first leg of their Pyramid play-off final against Stranraer, thanks to John Robertson’s equaliser.

Robertson equalised with a spectacular strike 19 minutes from time at K-Park, after League Two basement team Stranraer had taken the lead.

Andy Stirling put Kilby ahead after 32 minutes,

but the visitors equalised on the stroke of halftime through Sean McIntosh.

Craig Ross scored a rebound to put Stranraer ahead on the hour,

but Robertson’s thunderous shot insured that next week’s second encounter at Stair Park would start level matched.
